Would you like to come and stay in our beautiful and unusual family home in the wonderful Tarn region of France?

I hope you enjoy this web-site and feel free to contact us via the Blog or on our Facebook page; www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Fort/263585410320336

We would like to invite you to enjoy a tranquil stay in our river house, with the rush of water flowing over the weir and the possibility of fishing for your supper from the kitchen window.

In the typical Midi-Pyrenees summer, the thick river-stone walls, makes Le Fort wonderfully cool.   Then during the Autumn when it’s cooler, the house is warmed by the amazing wood-burner which creates a lovely cosy space where you can ‘curl up’ with a book on the sofa and dream.

The kitchen is the heart of the house.  Everything radiates from this central area.  There is a range gas stove, big enough to cook a meal for 20 people or more.  The sturdy cupboards built by Eric hold everything you need and the dishwasher makes quick work of all the clearing up!

Our terrace is a soft and calm area where you can meditate on the beauty of the trees and flowers, watching the King Fisher’s brilliant blue flash as it darts across the water.

We eat most of our ‘candle lit’ evening meals out here on the terrace!  We often eat Breakfast at the front of the house outside on the old stone bench, but this is only spacious enough for just a few people!  There is nothing to compare hot freshly baked ‘Flutes’ from the boulangerie and cafe creme with ‘lashings’ of fresh fruit and confiture de fraises (strawberry jam), early in the morning before going off to visit the many wonderful historic sites of this area.

A good night’s sleep is very important, so our bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable mattresses and special features that make each room very different. Here they are, don’t forget to click on them to make them easier to examine.

Visiting Realmont’s famous Wednesday market in the morning is a very important tradition!

Here you can stock up with all the fresh produce needed for your picnics and barbecues by Bencalie Lake only 10 minutes away.
